Vitamin C for COVID 19? Maybe

Came across this the other day

The world’s first randomized placebo controlled trial designed to test high dose intravenous vitamin C for treatment of COVID-19 has reduced mortality in the most critically ill patients by two thirds. The dose used was 24,000 mg/day by IV.

Now this dose is very high and was administered through an I.V. drip.

The results from this trial certainly warrants as closer look at using high dose vitamin C during an acute bout of illness especially given the lack of cost effective and readily available drugs.
